Subject: Use of Martensitic Stainless Steel in Vacuum systems

Hello,

I have a UHV application where I would like to use a Martensitic stainless steel for its magnetic properties. However, I am having difficulties obtaining my required ultimate pressure and an RGA scan has revealed higher levels of hydrogen than the previous design which used 304 st st.
Is there a way of increasing the rate of hydrogen outgassing (I assume this is the root cause) by some process prior to assembly into the system.

Thanks for your help,

Jess Clarke.
