Can someone please tell me the proper crucible material to
use with gold? I have looked everywhere and I can't find a thing! I believe that we are getting carbon contamination when we evaporate gold from a graphite liner. Also, I have tried to adjust our beam spot size, but it is very hard in our system to tell if the beam is striking the material or the crucible or both. Is it normal for a graphite crucible to glow orange-hot when evaporating? I am trying to determine if we are getting contamination from a wrong crucible material or a badly deformed beam spot. Thanks Chris
