Subject: Burning off Diamond like carbon coating?

Dear All:

We have some diamond-like-carbon (DLC) coated Tungsten Carbide, and would like to remove the DLC layer in order to re-coat the surface with fresh DLC coating. You can burn the DLC layer to remove it. Theoretically, the DLC will just burn into CO2. Do any of you know any place that will do such a heat-treatment for us?

Our concern is: burn off the DLC WITHOUT damaging the Tungsten carbide surface smoothness.

I know one place uses heat-blast to burn it, but it does roughen the surface(which is not what we want).

Please do tell me if you know anything about this.

Thank you in advance for sharing.

Charlie
