There are two primary sources to search. One is academic and the American VAcuum Society is the primary site. If you are looking for aplication references for applied technology, I would start with the Society ofVacuum Coaters www.svcinfo@svc.org.
These two are quite different. The AVS looks in to the theory, and the SVC tries to make a living from the technology. From this point on there are a number of sites dedicated to specific areas.
