Hi, George!
5 Year ago I was reading about one interesting corrosion test for TiN layer. (Sorry that I can not looked for this article )This test very visual showed relation between TiN with micro particles and without them!
Shortly - it’s a galvanic test in NaCl solution.
One electrode is TiN coat, another is plate from (I don’t remember correctly) may be Cu. In NaCl solution we have difference of potentials between electrodes. In the case of TiN with micro particles this difference of potentials was more than with TiN without particles.
It’s a very quickly test if you need to see a relation in the quality of coats!
Only I I’m not sure is it useful for you with you kind of coat?
Big regards!
