We are facing with a big problems here to coat the mirrors of our club member's telescopes who cannot afford to buy the new telescope because some of it are so expensive. So we have decided to make our own telescopes. Actually, we still don't have much members yet since this club are very new, that is why we don't need the big coating machine at this moment, the ability to coat 2 - 4 pieces of mirrors per day are enough for us but at the future time may be we will need the bigger one because this club membership are growing very rapidly. We really need to coat the primary mirrors of our telescopes. The mirrors were made from a plate glass flat at the bottom surface but concave (Parabolic shape) at the other side, round in shape and the diameter are from 4 inches up to 24 inches, the thickness of the mirrors are from 0.5 - 3.0 inches. We need to coat the mirrors, first with the aluminium (as a Reflector) and then with silicon monoxcide (SiO)(as a protective layer) on the concave surface of the mirror. At this moment, the budget that we can spend for getting the machine is around $3000.00 US Dollar but if this budget is not enough for you, we will try our best to fulfill your need.
Actually we also need the machine for coating the lenses of our telescopes eye pieces (anti-reflective coating), single-layer or multi-layer coating. but we don't know wether we can use this same coating machine to do all these coating jobs or we do need the separate machines. if all these processes need the separate machines, we think it is enough for us to have the mirror coating machine first because we are lacking with the budgets and we can still using the uncoated eye pieces lenses for the use of our astronomy club members while waiting the budget to be enough and getting the better telescopes.
