i am putting together a vacuum coating chamber for
the thin film deposition of aluminum on optical surfaces(telescope mirror's)so far i have a small
diffusion pump(a torr,measures about 18" long X 10",
the flange is 6" at the intake end,not sure of the level of vacuum this pump can achieve).,and have a
large glass water bottle, which i plan to cut the bottem out of to make a bell jar.
what i would like to know is:(1)what level of vacuum
is required for the deposition of aluminum from a
tungsten coil(2)what should i use as a sealant.
