Has anyone done any vacuum coating (by evaporation or sputtering) as a hobby for making decorative items (such as jewelry)? I have a fairly good 2-stage vacuum pump and a large bell jar (no diffusion pump). I would like to try my hand at vacuum coating metals onto ceramic and glass substrates for decorative purposes. Can anyone give me some pointers before I dive into it?
Thanks!
