Attention all gearheads in the midwest: I have a billet 4340 chrome-moly crankshaft that I have been making for the past two years for a 70 John Deere two-cylinder tractor. I started with a 980 lb chunk of steel and have now nearly finished the project except for grinding in the two crank-pin journals. They are not much bigger than the finished diameter will be (3-inch), but are still shaped nearly square. The crank is 36 inches long and 5 inches thick(the whole crank is in one plane) and weighs 150 lbs. Looking for someone with their own crank grinder that would be interested in doing this grinding(about one day) for about $600.00 . I live in northern Indiana and would need to be able to watch as you do the job as I have hundreds of hours in the thing and want to be involved if it is going to get screwed-up(hope not). Stroke will be in the 11 inch range, so the maximum width of the crank is less than 14.5 inches. Please E-mail me your phone number or your E-mail address if you live within a few hundred miles of me and could help. My E-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org or my digital beeper number is (219)430-7300 Thanks,
