Functions of the Position

The VoIP Market Analyst is responsible for maximising the economic performance of the VoIP web-called portal services based upon detailed numerical analysis of revenues and costs. The VoIP Market Analyst will also be required to perform some product management duties. Specific functions of the position include:

 Using financial models to determine major revenue and cost drivers, and understanding their behaviours in detail.
 Actively seeking out, quantifying and recommending opportunities for increasing revenues and reducing costs.
 Project managing the implementation of these opportunities.
 Assisting in setting sales targets and monitoring performance.
 Providing input to the annual market planning and budgeting process.
 Defining customer fulfilment processes for the target market.
 Developing promotional materials (website brochures, folders, information kits).
 Developing and maintaining sales training materials to ensure consistent delivery of appropriate marketing messages to the target market.
 Supporting internal and external distribution channels as required.
 Other duties as required.

Skill/Knowledge Requirements
 Previous experience in a product marketing role is essential.
 A high level of numerical analysis skills is essential to the success of this position. Candidates should be skilled with advanced spreadsheeting techniques, business case development, and statistics. The ability to learn and understand basic traffic engineering calculations is important.
 A working knowledge of finance is required. Experience in financial modelling is highly desirable.
 Previous expertise in marketing internet products would be an asset.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 A high level of PC literacy and Internet knowledge is a necessity.
 The ability to work with people at different levels of the organisation, and to represent the company professionally outside the organisation.
 Experience in positioning products in a competitive environment would be an asset.
 Creativity in developing novel approaches to meet the needs of the target market.
 University degree or equivalent professional designation in Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance. Candidates possessing engineering degrees will also be considered if supplemented by additional education and work experience in the above fields.
 Excellent time management and work ethic for a fast-paced environment.
 Project management of cross-functional teams to ensure customer service delivery.
 Ability to work on IT-intensive projects.
 Vision: ability to see large picture and the fit with corporate strategy.
 Planning and co-ordination.
 Customer focused approach.
 Action and results oriented.
 Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision.


$60K approx.. depending on experience. The compensation quoted does not reflect the bonus or benefits package. The benefits package is completely flexible to meet employee needs and includes up to 12 personal leave days immediately and 3 weeks at the end of the first year. Any bonus is paid in 2001 and would be performance based up to 20% of salary.
