Greetings,
I am a Hardware designer at Alcatel IND (Internetworking) in Acton, MA. We need to hire an Electrical Engineer with Verilog / VHDL FPGA design experiance, some Microprocessor/RISC/DSP System Design, knowledge of general data communications 'principles' (RS-422 style, Ethernet and T1 through OC-192) would be a great plus. The Acton office designs the WAN interface cards for Alcatel's (formerly Xylan) Ethernet layer2/3 switches. Our upcoming projects will require what I have described above. We can use someone with minimal experience provided that some of the above criteria are met (Verilog/VHDL in FPGAs and Processor Design are a must, a good major project at an Engineering school might include them).Alcatel has been a great company to work for, they are not a brand new start-up that might leave you hanging in 3-6 months (after they decide they are too late with a product). Stock options are part of the sign-on package and the pay scales are more like a California based company (because the main office is in Calabasas, CA). The following link will get you to a product brief for some of the existing WAN interface products, our future products will support OC-3 through OC-48 POS (Packet Over Sonet). http://www.ind.alcatel.com/library/product_catalog/pdf_small/b/b_osrwan.pdf If you are interested please email me a resume at 'philip.simmons@ind.alcatel.com'. thank you for you time... phil.
