Job Responsibilities

1 Co-ordinated and assisted the GL Inspection Group as well as the QGPC Operations
department with all quality related matters

2 Verified and ensured that the project specifications approved drawings,
standard codes and assembly process were implemented & executed during
construction.

3 Supervised and monitored the material receiving inspection of piping and
steel structures prior to fabrication and erection based on approved drawing
and specifications.

4 Prepared necessary non - conformance reports during construction and followed
it up with corrective action and conducted weekly coordination meeting with QC
staff regarding their groups activities and problems faced.

5 Was in charge of welding surveillance, checking and monitoring of welding
parameters, welding processes, pre-heating, post weld heat treatment, and
control of welding consumables and welding equipments.

6 Involved in the Quality Control of the of Shop and Field Welding and in the

reviewed documents such as dimensional reports, NDT, daily inspection reports,

Job Responsibilities as Welding Engineer


1 I was based at H.O.at Al-Khobar having to regularly visit the company’s 6
projects, scattered all over Saudi Arabia.

2 Weekly / daily scheduling for mobilization of manpower, welding equipments,
consumable control, welding activities and relevant testing activities based
on the project requirements, to be issued at every shop and with every Field
Welding Supervisor involved in the projects.

3 Ensuring that welding supervisors / welders were familiar with the welding
symbols, materials to be welded and ensuring that the correct welding
techniques were applied to avoid distortion, repairs and NDE rejections.

4 Coordination with shop / field superintendents and other key personnel involved
in the project with regards to regular progress status. Monitoring welding
progress reports and updating the actual accomplishments against planned.
Logging of all the problems encountered and assisting in initiating solutions.

5 Coordinating activities with client representatives regarding progress and
work status. Preparing accomplishment and progress reports.

6 Conducting training programmes to introduce basic welding techniques
( theory & practical ), to develop and upgrade the skills and working ability
of each trainee. The training subjects included the proper interpretation and
application of welding procedures specifications, understanding drawing and
welding symbols, and the method to implement and follow the requirements complying
with the applicable project specifications, codes and standards, the basic and
special techniques for different welding processes, commonly used in construction
and the method to work safely with minimal work rejection %, leading to higher
levels of productivity.

7 Conducting weld inspections and introduced individual coaching to the welders,
so as to improve their welding techniques and performance.

8 In Charge of implementing fire protections, newer designs for wind breakers,
electrode quivers and in ensuring the safe working conditions of the entire
welding crew in various projects with the proper implementation of the company’s
rules and regulations.


Job Responsibilities as a Mechanical Inspection Engineer

1 Co-ordinating with Saudi Aramco’s Inspection and Operations Departments on all
quality and safety related matters.

2 Implementing the approved Project Quality Plans and ensuring compliance with
the requirements of specifications and drawings.

3 Preparing QC Inspection plans, testing procedures, quality audit schedules
and maintaining a systematic & easily retrievable recording & filing system
for all QC documentations.

4 Inspection of all materials and equipments to be installed.

5 Liaison with outside approved testing laboratories and reviewing all the results.

6 Inspection of fit-ups vis-à-vis fabrication drawings, Holiday testing, hydro tests
of valves & flow lines, sandblasting and painting.

7 Monitoring the quality of jobs being implemented with regards to the installation
of buried FBE coated pipelines, installation of scraper traps & piping, emergency
shut down valves, stress relieving of critical piping systems, cathodic protection,
caliper surveys & pre-commissioning of Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical
and Instrumentation works.

8 Monitoring Quality Assurance and Quality functions on all components, including
those of sub contractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure that it meets the
specifications as per the company’s Quality Manual and Quality Plans.
