Position Objective: Key external duty is to ensure that the Client’s expectations are served in terms of receiving correct estimates in expected timeframes, while the principal internal duty is to estimate jobs that allow maximum profitability for the company. Working with the Executive Staff to maintain a balance of these two objectives is paramount to the incumbent’s success in this position. Scope of the Position: Position reports to the Director of Engineering and Estimating, who in turn reports to the President. The position is salaried with no direct reports. The position is accountable to the entire Executive Staff on matters of Product Pricing and new business development. Essential Accountabilities: Maintain and administer the estimate schedule to ensure that internal parties are aware of the schedule on an ongoing basis, and all estimate deadline commitments are met on a 95% basis. Provide estimates and proposals that are accurate and complete, and that the information contained within supports companys scheduling, project management, engineering and production processes. Provide and/or solicit diverse ideas for Value Engineering of all bids to ensure that we are providing the least cost alternatives to our customers. Document findings internally & externally.· Maintain a database of current and historical engineering, production and outsourced capabilities. Utilize this library of information to drive continuous improvement of the Estimating Process. Manage the post-launch review system that monitors the actual job costs compared to the original estimated costs. Maintain 95% accuracy level for direct costs and 90% level for indirect costs . Skills & Abilities: · Proven skills in the use of Spreadsheet and Database technology required to summarize and present concise and flexible bid proposals. Ability to understand engineering systems - including Bills of Materials, Cut Optimization tools, CNC Programming and project planning systems required for a custom manufacturing environment .Proven leadership, organization, team, written/oral communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to research and analyze information necessary to prepare proposals and recommendations that will be presented to all levels within the organization. Proven ability to present to individuals and groups so to influence toward goal accomplishments. Ability to travel by plane or automobile, day or night when required. Ability to maneuver to various floor levels and awkward positions in the plant environment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when required. Education & Experience: · A B.S. or B.A. degree in a business or technical field from an accredited institution, or significant experience with manufacturing & operations functions in a custom-engineered environment. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience within a related manufacturing field. A minimum of three (3) years in either a Project Management, Engineering or Supervisory role. Experience in the custom to mid-volume manufacturing environment – preferably in high-end wood or industrial kitchen production. Please respond via email to email@example.com. Must be a US Citizen.
