Seeking an individual to support a CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT in Hopewell, VA with a major Polymer corporation... Length of Contract Assignment: 9 months. Location: Richmond, VA AreaMUST BE U.S. CITIZEN OR U.S. PERMANENT RESIDENTResponsibilities of Position: * Develops new or improved analytical procedures to meet operational or environmental requirements. * Conducts non-routine investigations aimed at solving process control, environmental or product quality problems. * Participates on multiple teams within department, plant and business unit. * Assures that internal and external customer analytical needs are met. * Performs regular department audits (safety, ISO 9000, environmental). * Develops and implements appropriate corrective action. * Organizes and conducts training of laboratory technicians. Key Success Factors (specific expectations): * Use analytical and problem solving skills to support large multiproduct chemical manufacturing facility. * Develop methods to improve precision, accuracy, and reduce cycle time of laboratory analyses. * Accomplish multiple tasks, roles and objectives with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Participate on department action teams. * Complete assigned analytical projects on time and within budget constraints. Attributes/Skills Required/Sought: * Must have ICPMS * Strong analytical chemistry skills. * Experience with gas chromatography, HPLC, ICP-AES or ICP-MS techniques. * Demonstrated knowledge of organic chemistry. * Excellent communication skills, oral and written. * Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. * Computer literate, knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. * Auditing skills. Experience/Education Required/Sought: * Masters of Science in Chemistry, PhD preferred (or Bachelor of Science with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience). * Ability to use personal computer and various Windows software packages. Knowledge of LIMS a plus. * Demonstrated leadership experience. * Ability to motivate and educate non-professional technicians.
