Education Qualification:

Passed First Year Bachelor of Arts from Wilson College in March 1987.

Commercial Qualification:

 Completed a two years Training Course from The Government Industrial Training Institute, Thane for the trade of “Fitter” in July 1989

 Completed an all position Shielded Metal Arc Welding & Gas cutting for Marine Fitters from Grafs Welding Institute & Consulting Services in Oct. 2002

 Done a Basic Computer course, which includes Windows 2000 and Internet.

 Completed a STCW 95 certificate course from SCMS Maritime Training Institute in May 2002

Details of Work Experience:

1. Dubai Dry Docks, Dubai (U.A.E.) : Dec. 1995 to 19th Dec. 2001

Responsibilities as “Mechanical Fitter” for Electrical Rotating Equipment and Machinery (Electrical Dept.) included:

 Handling projects associated with marine equipments such as diesel alternators, high speed / high voltage motors, etc. The projects involved, identifying the nature of work to be carried out and completing the task of disassembling/assembling and testing of equipments to owners' satisfaction.

 Handling large and various types of repairs of AC/DC motors and diesel alternators (from fractional HP upto 5000 HP, 11 KV AC motors and DC traction motors).

 Onboard exposure, of various electrical jobs such as removals and installation of Motors and Generators, Cable Installation, Glanding, Termination, Megger testing and other marine electrical fixtures.

In-house Training Received :

a) Handling High Voltage cable connections, cable tray layout and dressing.
b) Handling most common types of shaft coupling for electrical motors, installation of electrical motors onboard vessels
c) Overhauling of Electrical AC / DC Motors
d) Basic Rigging for all trades which includes: understanding weight and load, preparing for manoeuvring objects, slinging simple objects, lifting and manoeuvring simple objects between locations usings chain blocks, slings and shackles.
e) General Safety & Basic Fire Fighting Course in March 1996.
f) DB4/06 Front-line Management in March 1998.

2. Finesco International, Kuwait deputed to Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (K.S.C) : June 1993 – June 1995

Responsibilities as “On-site Equipment Mechanic included:

 “On-shore” exposure with oil fields loading and unloading site equipment
 Mechanical and Electrical maintenance of desiel air compressors, desiel generators, gas turbines, and pumps (centrifugal/rotating and reciprocating pumps) connected with oil fields.

In-house Training Received:

a) Handling and maintenance of electrical diesel alternators (disassembling and assembling).

3. Pioneer Marine Industries, Bombay (India) : June 1990 to June 1993

Responsibilities as “Main Fitter” included:
 Offshore exposure with marine equipment and sailing squad division.
 Job involved: maintenance and overhalling of main engine, generator, desiel air compressors, pumps (centrifugal/rotating and reciprocating pumps)

4. Globe Construction, Bombay (India) : Dec. 1989 to March 1990

Responsibility as an “Apprentice” included:
 Workshop exposure with fabrication and steel works.

5. Diesel Power Engineers, Bombay (India) : Sept. 1989 to Dec. 1989

Responsibility as a “Fitter” included:
 Offshore exposure with marine equipment.

In-house Training Received:

a) Handling and maintenance of flow equipment i.e. centrifugal pumps, rotating pumps and reciprocating pumps.
