1. Dubai Dry Docks, Dubai (U.A.E.) : Dec. 1995 to 19th Dec. 2001
Responsibilities as “Mechanical Fitter” for Electrical Rotating Equipment and Machinery (Electrical Dept.) included:
Handling projects associated with marine equipments such as diesel alternators, high speed / high voltage motors, etc. The projects involved, identifying the nature of work to be carried out and completing the task of disassembling/assembling and testing of equipments to owners' satisfaction.
Handling large and various types of repairs of AC/DC motors and diesel alternators (from fractional HP upto 5000 HP, 11 KV AC motors and DC traction motors).
Onboard exposure, of various electrical jobs such as removals and installation of Motors and Generators, Cable Installation, Glanding, Termination, Megger testing and other marine electrical fixtures.
In-house Training Received :
a) Handling High Voltage cable connections, cable tray layout and dressing.
b) Handling most common types of shaft coupling for electrical motors, installation of electrical motors onboard vessels
c) Overhauling of Electrical AC / DC Motors
