Salary Range: $90-$125K DOE
All candidates must be U.S. Citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
Candidate must be able to manage small projects and provide leadership to supporting personnel. Responsibilities will include systems evaluation of optics as related to overall camera performance, mounting of optical elements and lenses, and oversight of all optical test and integration activities for camera systems that will include photographic and solid-state array sensors for the Visible/EO, NIR, MWIR, and LWIR spectral regions, including design and analyses for such systems.
The candidate must be able to work with colleagues at the team level to provide a unified and phased work effort toward measurable goals. The successful candidate will be a self starter, will drive the technological direction of company projects, and will provide technical support where needed.
Contributions will range from conceptual design through detailed design work and hands-on tasks during hardware assembly and integration. Other contributions may include fundamental analyses and liaison with customers, suppliers, and consultants, as required. Candidate will be based in Barrington, IL but will also provide support Riverside, CA.
The desired candidate should have between 10 to 15 years of experience in Optical Engineering, preferably with an MS in an optics-related field and specific experience in optical lens design, optical coating design, system engineering, electro-opto-mechanical design. A good working knowledge of image quality evaluation for a variety of optics-sensor variants and a knowledge of electrical/electronic concepts is desirable.
A working experience of the common commercial software packages, including MS Office, mathematical computational programs, optical lens design software (Code V, etc.) and drafting software (e.g. Pro Engineer, etc.) is a plus.
