Education: Bachelors Degree Electrical Engineering
Experience: 2 years or more
Requirements: ASIC, Verification, Simulation, Test Bench, VHDL, Vera, Tcl/Tk, FPGA, RTL, Verilog, C/C++
Many projects are available for engineers willing to develop their skills in front-end verification and design. These projects often involve a team of individuals responsible for the development of design verification (DV) environments, as well as RTL coding, for major modules or entire ASICs in the networking, wireless and graphics application spaces. These engineers would be responsible for the development of test benches, test scenarios, and actual verification tests, often written in C, C++, Verilog, VHDL, Perl or Vera. They are expected to develop a level of understanding of the system-level design such that they can conceive new tests, and add to the overall test coverage of the DV environment. The projects use a large variation of design methodologies, from a simple Verilog simulation environment still under development, to a complex, well-established, object-oriented DV environment with available C models of the entire system. These engineers would be trained in the appropriate tool set and then mentored to become world-class front-end designers by working closely with highly experienced individuals with a proven track record. Minimum Requirements: Must have 2+ years experience in any of the many ASIC implementation tasks, including timing analysis, RTL development, test vector development, logic synthesis, design verification, etc. Must also have an EE or CS degree, as well as a demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop. Experience using C, C++, Verilog, VHDL, Vera, Tcl/Tk and/or Perl, is highly desirable. Experience with networking, wireless, or graphics subsystems and/or standards are also desirable. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
