When you need to check or find the center distance of holes and slots, be they in-line or on a bolt circle, there's a real simple and accurate method for measuring this.

There's freebe info called Kwik-Bytes at sparro.com that explains this method graphically.

Check out Kwik-Bytes 3,4, and 5.

It'll save you a lot of hassle and guess work.
