Windsor, you know you're going to hear from me on this one. The Tek FG502 has been our primary function generator in a classroom setting. With 11 FG502s and another 15 or so FG501As, we've NEVER had a failure in 15 years. I say go with the company that made benchtop equipment compact while still maintaining performance. They're out there dirt cheap. No proprietary ICs, either. And it took the arbitrary generators to finally exceed the 40 MHz upper limit of the FG504, a function generator that was 10 years ahead of its time. Don't forget that you can inexpensively load up a TM506 with a 0.05% DM501A DMM, a really fine counter like the DC510, the FG502, a PS503A power supply and still have room for a PG502 pulse generator. Try fitting all that into 1.5 square feet with any other brands! Dean
