: I would like to know : 1. What is a choke coil ? 2. Uses of choke coil ? 3. Diagram of a choke coil ? 4. Application of induction coil in a car-engine ? I would be very grateful if anyone can answer these. Even if some website is available from where I can get the answer it will solve my purpose. Thanks in advance.

A chock coil is a inductive device used to reduce or eliminate
AC (mostly RF) current from a conductor. The choke will attenuate
AC and pass DC current.

A chock coil is built like any other wound inductor,
but has an air or powered core.

And finally, a coil in an automotive engine ignition system
serves to boost the voltage (of 12 volts) to 19,000 volts to put the spark
in the spark plugs.
