Your phone lines should be color-coded. Each line should maintain the sam color-coding regardless of the jack location. If your jacks handle 2 lines then the jacks may use typical color-coding of red/green for line 1 and black/yellow for line 2.

Find the color coding scheme for the actual wiring in the home and land (connect)the colors representing the phone line you wish to have on the jack you want to use. With 3 lines, you may have multiple twisted pairs with different color coding for each line, or you may have the standard 2-twisted pairs using just gree,red,black, and yellow.
