Greetings. I sympathise with you over your problem. However, solutions begin with knowing the problems you wish to solve:

1. Do you have a Technical (Service) Manual for the device showing full circuit details.

2. Can you read and understand circuit diagrams.

Somewhere, some part of the circuit relies on looking for, and finding, a 60 Hz reference. I am sure that most, if not all, of the electronics side will be provided by a DC power supply, so I would suggest that this supply is where the problem lies. It is probably designed to shut down as a protective measure should AC input stray too far from design paramenets. If you would reply to the queries above then this would help.
