There may be another solutions to your problem. Instead of a Bidirectional amplifier (or repeater) you might try investigating something called a 'leaky feeder'. This is a coax cable down which the RF signal is fed. The cable is specialy desgned to 'leak' some of the signal from the cable. The cable could be routed down to your basement from the base station.
