Greetings. Probably your best solution is to go to your local hardware store and take a look at a "Remote Doorbell" system which sells here in Canada for around $20.00. The "doorbell button" transmits an R.F. sugnal which is picked up by the portable "chimebox" which the homeowner carries with him when "out the back", gardening, barbecueing, etc. It would be hard indeed to duplicate the circuitry for this price. Mods are easy and consist mainly of substituting a relay for the chime-solenoid. Your ice-pole contacts can substitute for the doorbutton contacts. Range varies dependent on battery condition but is listed as up to 75 ft between Tx and Rx.
