Don't let the devil lead you down the garden path ..... those 5-, 10-, 20- and 40-watt amplifiers are illegal to use without a license, FCC approval, etc., etc. They are used by "pirate radio stations" and the FCC has been known to confiscate equipment and fine and/or jail chronic abusers of their rules. FCC rules Part 15 covers the operation of license-free transmitters and they're not expected to cover much more than a city block at most. A transmitter that's punching out there for one or two miles on the FM broadcast band will likely fit the "illegal as heck" category. Of course, selling this stuff isn't illegal. Using it is.
