Message:

I am thinking of using the Lubrite plate as a part of support structure. Let me explain briefly on this support structure: A heavy weight structure(~1500 ton) is to be supported on the concrete floor and the thermal movement of that structure needs to be allowed while it is bolted against vertical movements. That is, only horizontal movement is allowed. How is it possible? One method is to prepare a slotted hole in the horizontal direction for bolting. And Lubrite plate is installed between the concrete floor and the heavy weight structure. Thus, a heavy weight structure is allowed to slide on the Lubrite plate. 1. Does above idea(using Lubrite plate) sound reasonable? If not, any other good idea of support heavy structure with allowing horizontal movement dur to thermal expansion? 2. I need the material property data of Lubrite plate. Both mechanical properties and friction coefficient(static and dynamic), and etc. Can you suggest how I can get those information easily? Is there any limit for the supporting weight using Lubrite plate?
