I have a problem trying to glassify my manganese-silicate slag.
This slag melts at approx. 1350C but, when quenched in liquid nirtogen,
forms an olivine-like cristal structure around the slag. The inside is
glass but the outside isn't.
Does anyone know what is causing this??
slag contains approx
6% Al2O3
27% SiO2
21% CaO
6% MgO
39% MnO
