I would like help in a slag refined steel grade in the UK. We have had an EN24(817M40) component fail with very expensive consequences. This was found to be due to a network of fine slag inclusions. Therefore, we need to specify a slag refined (electro-slag refined, vacuum arc remelted/degassed?) grade to the component manufacturer in question. But I don't know where to find information on what materials are available in what grades, and where we might go to buy modest quantities of such steel. I would appreciate any help.
