Wrong email address given previously.
I'm looking for a simple circuit that illuminates an LED when either TxD or RxD are active. I'm thinking of simply using a NAND gate to drive an LED. Since the resting state of the TTL side is always high, any activity will always be preceeded by a low going signal(start bit). Someone suggested to me to also use a one shot in conjunction with it if I'm using this in a circuit that's 9600 or > as it'll be difficult to observe such a fast bit rate. Thank you
