Hi all,
I'm in 2nd year eng, and I am trying to design a touch tone phone filter through MATLAB. I'm
almost there, but the most difficult part is the optimisation of it's
performance, i.e., FIR vs. IIR, Chebychev vs. Butterworth vs. Elliptical
filters, effect of group delay, length of tone, tradeoff between signal
to noise ratio and bandwidth of filters etc. etc. Can someone please
give me some basic advice in these areas, or direct me to a useful web
site that will. By the way, I use SpTool to design the filters.
Thanks in advance,
Adrian Cheung
