Does anybody know, how to connect a UART TL16C552 to an existing PC ?
We have a PC 104 Modul, which is a compact PC with AMD 586 CPU and two
COM ports on Port.
Up to now, we have connected a TL16C552 to the PC-Bus without wiring the
reset line of the UART to the reset line of PC-Bus (cause PC gives Reset
and UART needs -Reset). Our Adresses are programmed to 3e8 and 3f8 and
IRQ are 10 and 11. Trying to test this shows with a TESTING PROGRAMM
"TROUBLESHOOTER" first of all: com3 and com4 as: "16550 bad fifo" and
the irq's are not 10 and 11. Programm shows for both irq3.
So the result is: They don't work !!
I will be happy for any hint, you can give me.
